QUELÍAS 2019, the Rosé from Sinfo that is Making Waves
The time when rosé wines were considered second-class examples now feels far behind us. Today, they are conceived directly from the vineyard. And in wineries that have traditionally specialized in rosés, such as Bodegas Sinforiano, this vineyard-first philosophy has always been the foundation.
Rosés have gradually set the pace of the year, challenging the seasonality that for decades confined them to summer wines. And if there is one winery that stands as a benchmark for rosés, it is Bodegas Sinforiano. This winery from Mucientes offers different creations crafted from various grape varieties and techniques, delivering in every case attractive, delicate, and highly refreshing wines. This is thanks to harvests specifically dedicated to rosé winemaking and to a gentle, non-extractive vinification, aimed at preserving the primary aromas and flavors.
In its tireless pursuit of producing wines of the highest quality tailored to modern consumer tastes, Bodegas Sinforiano created a new rosé: Quelías Rosé. An unconventional, complex, modern, attractive, and captivating wine, it is designed for consumers who understand and appreciate fine wine, seek high-end products, and are open to the guidance of experts.
This is a terroir-driven rosé with a distinctly continental character. The combination of native varieties (50% Albillo, 30% Garnacha, 10% Verdejo, and 10% Tempranillo) grown in moderately deep limestone soils gives this rosé fruitiness, complexity, and elegance while always maintaining long-lasting freshness. The old vineyards from which it originates have mixed plantings of these varieties and are cultivated under sustainable agriculture principles. The fundamental idea is to extract the best from each variety while maintaining a minimally interventionist approach in the winery.
This is a wine of limited production, whose concept is not simply a fresh, light rosé, but rather one that expresses the typicity of its terroir and varietals, aiming for volume and longevity. It is also conceived as a food-pairing wine, the ideal companion for almost the entire spectrum of dishes within the rich Mediterranean diet. Moreover, Quelías proves to be a great alternative alongside dishes that are usually considered difficult to pair, such as those from oriental cuisines, including Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Chinese, or Japanese.
