SINFO ROSADO FERMENTADO ON BARRICA 2021
Quelías Rosé also won a Gold Medal in the same competition, while the young Sinfo Rosé 2022 obtained a Silver Medal.
The “Sinfo Rosado Fermentado en Barrica 2021” from Bodegas Sinforiano has been proclaimed the Best Rosé in Spain at the recently concluded Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) 2023, held in Montpellier from March 7th to 9th, 2023, also receiving a Grand Gold Medal.
The 2023 edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles once again recognized Bodegas Sinforiano, making it the Spanish winery with the most awards in this competition during the Rosé Session. This achievement further consolidates its role in producing rosés of unquestionable quality and recognition.
Bodegas Sinforiano received three medals: a Grand Gold Medal for Sinfo Rosado Fermentado en Barrica 2021, a Gold Medal for Quelías 2022, and a Silver Medal for Sinfo Rosé 2022.
According to the organization, with nearly 50 medals, Spain confirms itself as a country producing rosés with great character and diversity. Aragón, Catalonia, Navarra, Rioja, and Castilla-La Mancha were represented among the winners, but Castilla y León and its emblematic denomination Cigales took home the “Pink Jersey” with the Trophy for Best Spanish Rosé, awarded to Bodegas Sinforiano.
Their “Sinfo Fermentado en Barrica 2021” (DO Cigales), a rosé of great originality and character, literally fascinated the jury.
This year, the CMB received 1,150 samples from 25 producing countries, evaluated by 55 international experts.
Analyzing the results of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2023 – Rosé Wine Session, only about 1% of the wines in the competition received the prestigious Grand Gold Medal, the highest recognition granted by the contest.
As for the “Revelation Wines,” only 9 out of the 1,150 submitted were selected: 6 from France, 1 from Portugal, 1 from Italy, and 1 from Spain. The Revelation Award for Best Spanish Rosé went to Sinfo Rosado Fermentado en Barrica 2022.
These awards once again showcase the excellence of Bodegas Sinforiano’s rosé wines, establishing the winery as a true specialist in this category.
But this is not the first time the winery has achieved some of the most prestigious international recognitions.
It is worth remembering that in 2022, during the same competition, Bodegas Sinforiano was the most awarded winery of the Rosé Wine Tasting at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, with 6 medals. Later, in the 2022 Rosé World Contest, out of only 8 Grand Golds awarded worldwide, 2 went to Bodegas Sinforiano (Sinfo Rosado 2021 and 50 Vendimias 2021 – Valdesalud also won Gold).
Additionally, in the Bacchus Competition 2022, Sinfo Rosado received a Grand Bacchus Gold, the only one awarded to a rosé wine, while 50 Vendimias also obtained a Gold Medal.
In 2019, Quelías Rosé 2018 earned a Grand Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2019, where it was also selected as Revelation Wine 2019 and received the highest score among all rosés in the world.
The philosophy of Bodegas Sinforiano is to continue betting on rosé wines, with different proposals crafted from various grape varieties and techniques. The winery thus protects the varietal heritage of Castilla y León and offers wines that are attractive, delicate, and refreshing.
This is achieved thanks to environmentally respectful vineyard cultivation and specific winemaking practices aimed at rosé production, seeking to preserve primary aromas and flavors while obtaining wines with unique personality and character.
SINFO ROSADO FERMENTADO EN BARRICA 2021
The Sinfo Rosado Fermentado en Barrica 2021 (D.O. Cigales) from Sinforiano received a Grand Gold Medal, but also strengthened its prestige with a second recognition: the award for Spain’s Best Revelation Rosé.
This is a single-parcel rosé of intense color that shows the freshness and finesse of a rosé wine, but on the palate gives the sensation of being an elegant red. It is voluminous, round, and very fruity, with a good integration of fruit and oak, and a long and complex finish.
For its production, grapes from a single parcel are used (80% Tempranillo, 10% Albillo, 10% Verdejo) from limestone-based soils with an average vine age of 62 years. It is fermented in 500 L American oak barrels and then aged on lees for 6 months in 225 L French oak barrels.
It is the perfect pairing for a wide variety of Mediterranean dishes: pasta, grilled or baked fish, chicken, fried foods, grilled vegetables, rice dishes, ham, pâté, grilled or barbecued meats, sausages, and semi-cured cheeses. It is also an excellent match for Mexican and Asian cuisine, especially spicy food.
This rosé is aimed at consumers open to expert recommendations, seeking something different and willing to enjoy new winemaking styles.
